More Than an Orphanage.
A Movement for Children.

For over 15 years, Rain Edge International has turned compassion into action — building a home, two schools, and a community enterprise ecosystem that gives every child a fighting chance.

Our Story

It Started With One Open Door

In 2008, our founder opened the doors of a single-room home to five orphaned children with no other place to go. There was no grand plan — only a conviction that every child, regardless of circumstance, deserved safety, love, and a future.

Word spread. More children came. A small community of volunteers, neighbours, and early donors rallied around the vision. Within three years, Rain Edge International had grown into a fully registered orphanage home serving over 60 children and had broken ground on its first primary school.

Today, we operate a thriving ecosystem — a residential home, schools from primary to college, and a portfolio of social enterprises including a water packaging plant and a bakery — all working together to make the organisation self-sustaining and to give every child in our care a genuine shot at a prosperous future.

Purpose

What We Stand For

Every decision we make — from how we run our home to how we invest enterprise income — is anchored to these two foundational statements.

Mission

Restoring dignity, unlocking potential.

To provide every orphaned and vulnerable child with a secure home, quality education from primary through secondary school, and access to pathways of economic empowerment — all sustained by ethical, community-rooted social enterprise.

Vision

A world where no child's future is determined by their past.

We envision communities where every child — regardless of background, loss, or circumstance — has the love, education, and economic foundation needed to live a dignified, purposeful, and self-sustaining life.

Our DNA

Core Values

These six principles guide every interaction, every program, and every business decision we make at Rain Edge International.

Unconditional Love

Every child in our care receives love that does not depend on behaviour, background, or academic performance. Love is our first programme.

Education as a Right

We believe quality education is a fundamental right — not a privilege — and we work tirelessly to ensure every child accesses it free of charge.

Sustainability

Our enterprise model ensures we are not dependent on donations alone. We build businesses that generate income, create jobs, and fund our mission in perpetuity.

Community Partnership

We are embedded in the communities we serve. We hire locally, source locally, and ensure the benefits of our enterprises flow back into the surrounding neighbourhood.

Transparency & Accountability

We publish our annual reports, financial summaries, and impact data. Donors, partners, and the public deserve to know exactly how every shilling is used.

Child Dignity First

We never use children for fundraising imagery without consent. Every communication upholds the dignity and privacy of the children we serve.
