We also run structured mental health sessions, life skills workshops, and trauma-informed care for children who arrive with histories of loss, neglect, or abuse. Every child's health journey is treated with full dignity.

From the Children Themselves

The most honest measure of our programs is the words of those who have lived them.

I arrived at Rain Edge at age six with nothing. Today I am in my final year of a medical degree. This place did not just give me a home — it gave me a reason to believe in myself.

Referrals can be made by government social welfare departments, community leaders, hospitals, churches, or concerned individuals. Complete our enquiry form below or call our child welfare office. Our team will conduct a home assessment within 72 hours of receiving a referral.
Yes — day students pay fees, but these are significantly subsidised compared to private schools in our area. We operate a sliding scale fee system based on household income. Families who cannot afford fees can apply for a bursary, and no child is ever turned away purely for financial reasons.
Absolutely. Our vocational training centre is open to any youth aged 16–25 from the wider community. Priority placement is given to Rain Edge alumni, but community applications are warmly encouraged. We admit two cohorts per year — January and July — with about 30 students per cohort.
The Rain Edge Scholarship Fund is financed through donor contributions, enterprise surpluses from our water and bakery operations, and corporate partnerships. Individuals can also "name" a scholarship — making a dedicated annual gift that fully funds one scholar's costs for the year.
Transition planning begins at age 16 for every resident. By 18, young people have a clear pathway — whether university through our scholarship programme, a vocational qualification, employment, or a return to supported family arrangements. We never put a child out without a plan.
Yes — we welcome donors, prospective partners, journalists, and community members. All visits must be scheduled in advance and go through our child safeguarding protocol. Photography of individual children requires signed consent. Contact us to book a facility tour.
